I purchased a Magnum 5 17x6 Rear wheel (40900061) and the install kit (43854-08A) I dropped these parts off to get the bearings installed at a local indy shop . My bike has the 17x6 rim and 200mm tire stock but the wheel is not listed to fit the bike (It's listed to fit 07-09). The bearing kit is listed to fit the bike so I figure maybe with some different axle spacers I might be able to make it work. I am just hoping to be able to have the rotor and pulley line up. The only difference I presently see is that the Magnum Hub is 3/8" shorter than the stock rim.
Anyone have any experience trying to do a rear wheel fit? Dealer who I bought the parts from originally told me it wouldn't work at all, then changed their mind and said it could work with no returns on the parts after the purchase
Thanks for any input, I'm hoping to get the wheel back tomorrow and start fitting it up.
I've ran a polished 07 NT rear wheel on my 06 for 2 years. I'm running a 1/2" spacer behind the drive pulley and a 00-05 axle spacer on the drive side. Everything on the brake side lines up as normal. If your new wheel fits 07's this SHOULD work for your set up.....but I can't say 100% for sure.

So its ok to have the drive pulley off the hub by a 1/2"? or am I not understanding?
also I really appreciate your input.

Yeah a believe a lot of custom wheels utilize spacers on the drive side. Just make sure you get a quality spacer that's hub-centric and use the proper length GRADE 8 (at a minimum) bolts. I don't remember the bore diameter of the hub/spacer off the top of my head but a quick search on ebay should do it for you. I think its 00+ that use the same hub diameter.
Ok got it . I found this web site www.vulcanworks.net and found they carry a wide array of drive pulley spacers. I will have to get the wheel back and try to put a 1/2" shim in between the hub and drive pulley to make sure it will work and then get it ordered. If I have any more questions I'll add to this thread. Hopefully the next post will be a pic with the wheels installed

Thank You very much for your help on this!!!
Yeah definitely double check the width needed. My local Indy had a 1/2" on the shelf so that's what I used. It may actually be a 3/8" difference like you originally stated. I was in a bind when I grabbed mine but its been on for 2 years without a problem. Good luck! The Magnum 5 is a sharp wheel. Can't wait to see it.
I just fit a 17x6 on my 04 night train. The 06 has a different offset from all the other
softails. i noticed the the pulley for a 06 has no offset and is completely flush. The wheel will fit just have to figure out the correct spacing.

Do you have the 200mm tire on your bike? So you didn't have to use a spacer between drive pulley and hub to get belt to line up?
