This thing! I realise it's a volume actuator for the exhaust. But, will I need to worry about plugging it back in? Will it throw up an error if I don't?

You don't need that. You should be fine without it

If you are still not 100% sure call the dealer to make sure it's OK

all of us who bought new bike had to start somewhere.. Looks like your off and running.

Is that volume actuator something that Cali only has, never seen one, but I haven't look hard at the new bikes?

The volume actuator is for foreign markets only. We don't get them in the US.
I don't know what effect it will have without it. It "should" be fine. Only way to find out is to try.

Very weird, did it make it louder or softer sounding installed?

My bike already had some V&H slip-on's when I bought it, so I'm unable to say, but, I could see the outside mechanism working as I revved it!

I have them on the bike now, I will bring my jubilee clip driver home tomorrow and make a few little adjustments.

Sorry for the pants photos, but it's raining here!

When I bought the bike, it already had stage 1 modifications, including V&H slip-on's.
The dealer said it had SE Supertune? and, if I changed my pipes or anything, I would need to take to my local dealer to remap it!

This is the box itself, can anybody tell me more about it?
