I put the VH big shots on 13 FLSTC with KN and HD Tune. I'm a big VH guy since 1984. Not to loud but great performance and look. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.
I had Big Shot Staggered on my bike when I bought it. Nice sound and bike ran well, with good low end torque. I liked them, but very common and kind of basic, plain design. Bike got pretty loud after changing cams and switched out to Quiet baffle. Noise was a little quieter at idle, but just as loud around town and bike just felt like power was choked a little on highway, which I did not like.
Changed out to Big Radius 2-1 for awhile and then went back to 2-2 - Bassani Power Pro turn outs. Loved the look and sound - they are loud. I lost some low end despite stepped headers, enough to feel it and see it on Dyno. The power dip bugged me a little, but the bigger problem I had was the pipes kept coming loose at the cylinders. I would ride 50 miles and bike would start popping pretty bad and headers would be loose. Not a big problem if I could get to the exhaust flange nuts without removing heat shields, but I could not, so tightening was a pain in the a$$ and not easily done on side of road with hot pipes. Not sure if this is a common problem, or if I was getting some type of resonance/vibration.
I ended up getting a Fatcat 2-1 - looked good, good power, but I never cared for the sound. I had a guy tune it and test ride it and they sounded good when he rode by, but when I was on bike, I just didn't like the sound. Fatcat was damaged when I went down on a wet oily road and went under a truck, and I replaced them with Bassani Road Rage 2-1. Good sound, good power, and I think it is one of the better looking 2-1 pipes. These headers have not come loose and I can tighten wit heat shields in place.
I will also add that Bassani chrome is okay, but neither pipe had the high quality of the two sets of V&H pipes.

I run the Bassani's on my Evo.They work well on it .V+H always have had a tinny sound no matter what baffle you use.I listen to the girlfriends bigshots all the time.Glad she rides behind me.
I've been waiting for Rinehart to come up with their Crossbacks for my Breakout CVO. Got tired of waiting so I put on a set of V&H Twin Slash slip ons in the meantime. Love the look and they sound awesome. Pretty loud and deep, which was a pleasant surprise as my experience with V&H is they are a little too tinny and not deep enough for me. With the slip-ons I get the benefit of the stock crossover, get rid of the cats, and as I said, they sound great.
fwtw My bike in my pic has SupperTrapp mean ******* drag pipes. You don't hear much about them but they are similar to VH long shots. I think they would look kewl on a breakout jmho.
They are plenty loud (deep loud) and they are so perfectly chromed and bent and blended with the bike its scary good.
Plus they are set in place so the lower pipe is inboard of the top pipe an inch or so where you wont scrape them on a hard right turn which I like. Plus they look cool from all angles I think anyway. hth
I have a breakout and was not aware long shots would fit. D and D lowcat and bobcat fit, not sure about the fat cat. Personally like both d and d pipes esp. the bobcat. Havent heard it on a breakout, only on a sportster youtube clip. Best of luck.
