I was working Friday morning during a freezing rain storm. Parking lots were ice rinks and the roads were very treacherous. All of a sudden a guy on a Sportster rolls up to a stop light, I could not believe it. Idiot. About 10 minutes later a fire truck and ambulance come blaring by, my work mate says it must be for the guy on the bike.
Cool photo though, if the guys survived unscathed.
Prolly didn't watch the weather report.
Unless they are in Colorado, in which case it doesn't really matter.
NO LIE!!! Came across Copper over Labor Day Weekend, headed home from Vegas, and about froze to death....LOL Rain and sleet came out of nowhere; had to hit an off-ramp and leather-up. Damn Colorado and our bi-polar weather....
Definitely like Colorado. I was in Copper mountain in July once and it started snowing.
Beartooth pass is 10,947 feet, in one section you go from 5,200 ft to 8,000 ft in 12 mi.
My wife and I got caught in light snow going over the pass on I-70 this September. It was not nearly as bad as the picture. After the guy used his phone to take the picture, I hope he called a tow truck.
Had that happen to me once. I was in southern NM, it was a warm day when I went to work, turned cold and snowed so fast I did not have time to put my work equipment up. 2 hours later the roads melted enough I could ride home. That was a scary ride, yes, I felt like an idiot riding in the snow, but no way would I leave my bike out in that weather. No trailer available. Made it home with out any problems, but I drove so slow I could count the pebbles on the road.
Late winter storm hit me around Reno one late spring and I had rain, snow and sleet. By the time I stopped for a motel in late afternoon the temp was 28* in wet snow. Here's a pic of my weather on my Garmin 665:
