You could have used the old headlight as a helmet. Definitely an improvement.

Really dig where you are going with it. Just my biased suggestions:

Black out the fork sliders, black out the oil tank, and black out the handle bar controls.

Interesting use of heatpaint. You mean the kind used to paint BBQ grills and the like, correct?

I've used it on a few parts near my pipes. But my impression is it can be a little flakey out of the rattle can. I didn't prep anything though.

I like the look of the after picture, but hope the paint is durable enough. I have had mixed results with DIY rattle can paint jobs in the past.
