Interesting use of heatpaint. You mean the kind used to paint BBQ grills and the like, correct?

I've used it on a few parts near my pipes. But my impression is it can be a little flakey out of the rattle can. I didn't prep anything though.

Yes its the kind you use on the exhaust and other hot objects, gave a nice "denim" effect
