I have the Ness forward control extentions too. What I did to spruce up the shifter rod was take a piece of chrome straight water line like you would use on a sink. Cut it to the length of the shifter rod between the ends. It fits the diameter of the rod pretty well. I put a wrap of electricians tape on about 3 places on the rod. This made it fit snug and eliminated the chance of it rattling. It gives the rod a beefier look and it's chrome. I painted mine black on my Train to match the rest of the bike.
Has anyone tried and/or been successful in mounting the HD extension brackets? I know the originally linked set isn't listed as compatible (or in my case the chrome version 49171-08), but I'm hoping it can be made to work. I know many are happy with the Arlen Ness version, but I don't particularly care for the look. I also need chrome and was quoted $150 to chrome those tiny AN black brackets, so the price difference wouldn't be that huge to go with the HD set.
Anyone have any thoughts/experience with the HD version? I called tech support but they are unwilling or able to clarify why it isn't listed as compatible with the Breakout.

I have a 2013 Breakout without ABS so I hear it's not too difficult of an install.
I looked it up and Amazon said it will NOT fit the Breakout but obviously it will since a few of y'all have done it.
Can someone provide me with the part number they used?
Any tips or modification?
What's a good way to bleed the brake?
Thanks

Yes, the one I used is the Kury part that NSR has posted the link to. Nice and fat!

I too inquired about this set for both my Breakout when I had it, and now for my Fat Boy, and the dealer told me they wouldn't install it since the description says it won't fit. It looks to me like they will fit and after installing the AN kit myself I kinda regret not getting them, but I thought to myself 4 bills is a lot of cheese to potentially throw away. But I'm betting they'll fit, it's only 3 bolts for crying out loud.

Yes, there are different kits for different year/model bikes. Go to their website (I ain't doing that for ya, sorry, you can handle that part).
I apologize, I didn't express my question properly.
I meant, which model of motorcycle did you have to choose to match the correct linkage length required for the Arlen Ness extended controls?

Dude, the Kury link has about 25 different bike models to choose from, including BO...I think being the "extended" product they're assuming you have an extension kit no matter what brand the kit is, and it comes made at a minimum length. Your AN kit came with a linkage, right? Install the link ends and measure it to use as a guide. So I'm still not sure what you're asking. Click on "fitment details" too, the product is adjustable to a certain degree. Lastly, you can rotate your shift lever arm to get a precise fit, then adjust your shift lever to your liking. Cake, don't overthink it.
Or, you can buy the chrome extended shift linkage and chrome ball end joints that I have for sale in the classifieds, and wrap the crap out of it with electrical tape like some other have suggested! Save you a few bucks.
