I have been thinking about getting a new set of 39 inch with the removable tips and baffles. I called my guy who is one of the biggest dealers of Samson in the us and he told me right now things are pretty bad with the move to sturgiis. He sells a few sets every day problem is they are not shipping very much right now and said it would be awhile . I am in no hurry I have 39 inch on my ride now but want to upgrade to the newer ones and maybe give it a shot with out the baffles. Last time I ranwithout baffles and before we added a new map it ran like **** at low rims trouble was it needed a little back pressure. I also have heard this from a few people what was happening at low rims it was sputtering and ran like **** once I got it rolling than it was great but when you were at a light and started out terrible. I am hoping that with the new map I have it will run better with out the baffles than last time but I can live with the baffles in it if I have to really do not want any tickets you never know when the law is going to go on a rampage and go after loud pipes. They have been pretty good past few years but a new police chief may want to do things different. Any way any one waiting on Samson May have a little wait from whT I hear. If you think your going to order them and get the in a week forget about it with all the orders they have waiting you will just have to wait but it's worth it. If you want them wait it out don't get itchy you will get them sooner or later. I believe the info I got is accurate and I know some of you have probably ordered from this business but I do not want to mention any names I am almost sure he is a forum supporter but any way hang in there any one looking for a set of 36 inch with baffles pm me no head pipes or hardware just the rear 36 inch with baffles
I ordered the non baffled 42" longtails before Christmas. Still haven't got them yet so your info is the truth! They had a sale on the ones I bought when I ordered them. They didn't send out until AFTER the sale ended so I don't know if I'm getting nailed full price or not. I wrote Samson and asked and the reply I got was "Sorry, The sale was only until the first of the year. Any questions, give them a call". I guess I will wait and see.
I bought the duals last winter and I went with the 36" slash cuts. I would also sell my pipes, but I drilled two holes in them already. LOL!
Ordered mine Dec 6th and still nothing yet. Called last week and was told 2-3 weeks. Was told 4-6 when I first ordered them. Got 42's with removable tips and baffles. Their bad *** though so it will be worth the wait. Just not a very patient person.

I thought about 42s but I'm scraping pretty good with the 39s before I put the 21inch wheel on I had no problem but the 21 gave me a little rake and now I do scrape them I ordered the 39s with removable tails and baffles
nikonf8, I think we have similar builds in our engines except I don't know the size of the displacement on your top end and I'm not sure about your heads or your tuner. I have the SE pro tuner and I went from a 2 into 1 to the 39" with the removal baffles and tips. I will not lie, I can tell it dropped off a little. With the build I have though I can afford to lose a little and still have more than I need. I believe you do too.
I am going to do some more head work and then it's off to my Dyno guy. It needed a Dyno right after I put the Samson's on but I knew I was going to be doing this head work this winter so I am just waiting on that. When it is on the Dyno the guy will be pulling the baffles and cutting them down for an optimum tune and peak performance. They don't sound bad fully baffled either.
It won't be done until mid March I would say and I can pass on more information if you wished at that time IF you have not already done what you wanted to do. Shoot, maybe we both can exchange info anyway so see where our builds finished up at.
I am not real sure of exactly what year your bike is and or if you have O2 sensors or not. If you don't have it I would still get the pipes with the removable O2 Sensor holes and with the plugs. Just in case you ever want to or have to upgrade a tuner that would require them at any time in the future.
In closing, think "ceramic coating". It's not just for the heat Dude, it's for how pretty they look, that which is exposed from the heat shields. I have some good miles on these pipes in the hottest of weather and those 3 head pipes look like I just put them on. We have similar bikes and I know you are with yours like I am with mine and how they look and how they perform. I have had people notice them and it's been only positive comments and it's just one more thing to lift your bike just a tad over the guy parked next to you. That's my $0.02, take it for what it's worth.
EDIT: Personally, after getting the 39" Samson's they have worked out very well and looks the best, IMHO. Again, we have similar bikes and the 42" are just to long, trust me.
