I'm installing 12" apes on my 07 Night Train ... just got my Magnum pearl black cables in today .. anyone know if its better to run the cables in front or behind the bars??

you throw the cable into the wheel when you need to stop. duh

Go all the way and run them through the bars.

Usually the brake line is in front due to the location of the master cylinder. The same goes for the clutch. Throttle and idle kind of sit where they sit as they come out of the bottom of the switch housing.
