I own a 1997 heritage springer with ape hangers. I measured the stainless steel throttle cable from the end of the 90 degree housing to the end of the sleeve. It measured 47 1/2 inches.
I am going to be replacing it with the same type cable. I would just like to know wich length I am looking at.
+8?, +10?
Maybe someone could find me a good deal? I might beable to get a barnett +10 off ebay for 40 after shipping but I would need to be 100% sure that it is the correct length.
Hey I'm resurrecting this thread before it gets too old.
I was installed my (new to me) idle cable, and when i went to set it with the adjuster, the adjuster just snapped off.. seems it was rusted together. Anyways.. does anyone know if this is accurate for measuring cables?
do you just go to the end of the adjuster, and Not include elbow? Do you include the wire that hangs out, too?
If I do, then my length is 43 1/4" + 4" exposed cable + 1 3/4" after the turn of the elbow.
If I don't..the length of the housing is only 39". They're also for 14" apes, so I'd imagine the second measurement is more accurate, since that would be ~+8 1/2 over stock.
Thoughts? Someone correct me, or give me a sanity check.
