Guys my 88 FLHTC has a S &S super E on it and I have broken a couple of throttle cables in the last month. It was set up with one cable for throttle and no idol cable it looks like the aftermarket plastic grips may have been rubbing the cable but I am not sure. Here's my question.
Is there any difference at all between a throttle cable and a idol cable. Ftom what I can see they are the same length and fittings but idol cables are cheaper.
Thanks for the input and any help on why my bike is eating these cables would be great as well.
If you go WOT a lot, you should set your pull open cable so it juuuuuust makes a click on the stop at WOT. Otherwise all the force goes into the cable as the stop. Sometimes, if the cables are a little off, the grip will get a little tight when adjusting the pull closed and you;ll have to re-visit the pull open.
