Default Thunderheaders 2-1

So, what are the pros and cons of the thunderheader 2-1? I love the old school look and sound of these. Looking to replace my V&H Big Radius 2-2.

Thanks!

I had 2 bikes with Thunderheaders. One pipe cracked, the other the mounting bracket cracked. Pro's are good power. Super loud low rumble. Cons are finish, quality, and they are funny looking. They also sit really low to the ground so on a softail they will scrape pretty easy.

Other good options for a 2 into 1 include V&H propipe, D&D fatcat, Bassani Road Rage, etc etc.

A lot of people have them, but I don't care for the looks at all. I don't think they look anything like "old school". The black ceramic Rush 2:1's would look great on your bike, as would the 2:1's offered by Shade Tree Fabrications. Also, how about the Rineharts?

I had Thunderheaders on my Lo and could never get past the look of them. I know lots like them but to me they looked like a high school metal shop project gone bad, ie; a tin can tacked to the pipe. Loved the sound and performance but not the look. Luckily one of the mechanics at the Indy shop loved it so we made a deal! I bought some barely used V&H Pro Pipes from a member here when he changed bikes. Great deal and I love them on my bike...Looks, performance and sound are all great.

Had one once. They sound good, but look like SH*T in my opinion. They look like my 12 year old nephew welded them.

Great info guys. Sounds like the build quality isn't that great... I'm going to consider other 2-1 options as hog pro recommended. Thanks again.

+1 rush racing products. If you call them directly, and ask for katfish he can point you to one of their Indy dealers and get you the best pricing.

I have the chrome version with the 2" baffling because my 88 is stock minus bolt-ons. The header pipe is ceramic coated, comes with 18mm, and 10mm o2 bungs and the inserts for both.

I was never a fan of 2 into 1 until I bought this bike. It had a Python on it and I LOVED it. The power, the sound and the look all tripped my trigger. If I ever went with anything other than that Python, which I still have, it would probably be a Fatcat. Thunderheader, to me, looks like ****.
