Default Do you run a windshield on your Fatboy?

Just wanted to see what % of Fatboy owners run a windshield.

No and I've no interest in one.

My FatBoy came with a 'quick disconnect' windshield, and I've ridden the bike with it on, and off.

Now the windshield is sitting in a bag, and I doubt if I will ever use it again...

I have a quick detach, but only run it in rare occasions (rain/long long trips).

I bought a Quick Detachable HD Low Profile Tinted for my bike. I admit that I use it in the winter months when Iride the bike to work (once or twice a week). My commute is 65 miles one way on the 405 130 miles r/t. It's a boring ride and in the early am sometimes a little cold ( for So Cal) so the windshield does make it more comfortable.

But I think they look a lot better without a windshield. Seems that if you wanted to run with a shield or fairing a touring bike would have been a better fit or if you wanted a softail with a windshield and bags a Heritage would be a better bike to start with. And maybe save a lot of $.

But I guess that is what makes us and our bikes different.

I have found that the windshield lets me wear my half helment without the neck strain I normally fill after riding without it. I've been trying to wear the helment more lately but without the windshield it really is a pain in the neck...lol...

80% of the time I have the shield on, only when cruising around town, bar hopping or whatever, do I take it off. I think my bike LOOKS much better without it, but I have grown too soft and cushy in my old age to allow the wind to beat me senseless.

Always on. Only time I take it off is to clean it. Tried to ride without it but it blows my helmet back. Also bug killer.

Sounds like we use it for the same reasons. I love riding without my helment and without the windshield but think I owe it to my family to use the helment and with it the windshield is a must for long rides.
