Default Locking it up!

Getting ready for a long trip. How does everyone lock their bike up while at a hotel?

Lock the ing. and forks. That won't stop them but it will slow the slightly. Ask if you can park by the lobby so the desk can see it. Other than that, make sure you have the proper insurance. If they want it, they'll get it no matter what you do.

I don't do anything out of the ordinary. Never use my fork lock. Simply lock the ignition

Get a CABLE Lock (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Master-Lo...5DCC/202311744) from one of the Big box Stores or look at the HD ($$) ones. Get one long enough to reach from the FRAME to a post or one of the tire stops (if it has room under it for the cable lock to pass through). I prefer one that has the lock attached to it as they are harder to cut. Yes you can “FREEZE” one just like you can a padlock.

You can always ask if the first floor handicapped room is available..no problems. I just lock it up with the alarm on. They are probably not going to grab it outside a room with that little red light flashing. Too many people packing these days. If they do, for goodness sake, let them have it. They have to be crazy.

Just park it in the room with you.

I see you're in Indiana, will you be trailering your bike? If that's the case, run a cable lock through the frame to a strong part of the trailer. Also, as mentioned, contact the hotel you'll be staying at and ask them about security and if you could park in a visible area. Lastly, if your trailer isn't enclosed throw a cover over your bike.

When we went to west Texas, I locked the ignition and forks. I also have a siren alarm on it too. I'd like to get the lock for the brake disk but they're heavy. And I don't want to carry it or have it bouncing around in my saddle bag.

No trailer. Not leaving until late April.
