I don't know much about these and I have a friend that has a 96' Fatboy (although it looks nothing like a fatboy now) but he has the opportunity to buy some bags and the Bagger Tail kit Part # CV-7201. But it says that part is for 86-07 softails, while Part # CV-7200A is for 08 and up softails.
Does anyone know the difference in this kits? Do you know if Part # CV-7201 could be modified to fit an 86-07 softail?
the 08 up kit is for wider tire softails....i asked this question myself and that was the answer i got from cyclevisions direct..i have the 7201 kit on my 05 deluxe

Interesting. So I bet the 7201 kit will fit my buddies 96 fatboy then?
Becaus3 not all the 08 and later softails have the wide tire. But if you are using the 7201, I dont see any reason it wouldnt fit an older fatboy.
They have a part that ties the two brackets together behind the wheel. Would be longer on the later model. Just shorten it and use it because it makes a bunch of difference on the stability of the bags on rougher roads.

That's easy enough! I thought maybe the brackets were different for the different years but as I am learning, apparently they are the same (where the bags mount to the bracket).
