Dude I'm reeling waiting for my first ride of the year on the heritage. It is such sweet comfortable ride that you hate when you have to put the kickstand down.
I love my heritage. It's on '01 bought it with 3k on the clock for $6700, got it in October and have put 1900 miles on it since then. It's 100% stock now! but I've got pipes, and an a/c on the way. I love it
I own a 2000 Heritage(TC88) I bought it with 11,000miles on it at the end of 2012 and as of yesterday it has 24,000 on it. I love the thing. I have to get into the cam chest and take a look at the tensioners and make sure there good for now but will replace them when the time is right. bike has been great so far. a 6th gear would be nice as would anti lock brakes but that will come with the next bike.... good luck....
1997 - 2003 FLSTS Heritage Springer
IMHO best looking HD produced since the 50's.
Lots of reasonable priced ones still out there with low mileage.
Just bought one...love it! I think it looks like a million bucks. Old school but new school convenience & brakes. Rides like a Cadillac around town.
On the highway at 80+ I find the balanced engine to be buzzy (mirrors blur and I feel the vibration)...coming off a Road King. Was going to sell the King but maybe I need both, one for in town, one for on the road....I can pay for the registration and insurance for about 10 years before I would pay for the 6 speed upgrade to my stock trans.
I'm the brother that UT-rckr posted for. I ended up getting a 2008 heritage softail classic and I absolutely love it. Thanks for all the feedback and input!
I love my 09, but I wouldn't mind the extra few horses with the newer 103 ci.
But I wouldn't pay extra for 7 ci.
I'd go with the 2007+.
96/103 ci and 6 speed tranny.
Any year choice is a great one in the Heritage Softail IMO. Just added cams & ThunderMax to my Stage 1 2008 Heritage and i now have the perfect bike with more than just a few extra ponies. This is what the Heritage would be if it wasn't for the EPA. 81 HP with 95 fps of Torque. Yeeee Haa.
