Great weather afforded me the opportuntity to finally go for a ride today. It felt good and I'm now really fired up about the arrival of Spring and Summer. Can't wait for the prime weather...
it's 28 degrees here in Omaha but the weatherman is saying it's going to be 67 this afternoon.
The cover's off, the tender is unplugged and I'm now on a holding pattern waiting to see 50+.
Harleyman, turn your pipes toward the East and rev your motor to help get some heat over here!!!!!!
We need a good rain here to wash away the salt and sand. In some spots it looks like you're riding on the beach.
Same down here but I did get in a short ride yesterday but roads were way to salty and sandy with a bunch a pot holes for me to be out there too much yet - The 60 degree air felt good thou
We had a nice stretch of warmer weather last week, even getting into the 50's a couple of days.
It's getting so close now I can taste it.
I even pulled the bike down off the jack yesterday and rolled it out into the driveway to give it a once over.
I've been able to ride at least once a week, all winter. The wife and I rode a couple hours in the SC, GA and NC mountains, on hwy 28 yesterday. Temps were in the high 60's. Today is 72 degrees and I've been out once for a short ride. Prolly will go again for an hour or so.
Monday and Tues are supposed to be even warmer here in the foothills of SC, with the temp peaking about 75/76 on Tues. Few errands to run on Mon., but if the forecast pans out, don't bother to call the house on Tues, I won't be home !
Went for a short ride today. The sand on the intersections are like riding through a sand box. Come on heavy spring rains to wash the streets off.
I think the blacktop surface is much better than that used in the past, pot holes are not that frequent at all.
My most nerve racking moment on a bike was hitting a gigantic pothole at highway speed that knocked both hands off of the handlebars (not prepared for such a hit)and landed my chest on the gas tank. This was on a Kawasaki Ninja and I think the bike was so well balanced it kept me from crashing.
Looking forward to warm weather and clean roads. Its been a loooong winter.
