Default 2002 FXSTD - So Long Stock Bars

After 70k miles I think it's time for a change. I've decided to go with 14" Wild 1 Chubby OutlawZ, and while I'm at it I'm going to replace everything above the triple tree. I plan to do the work myself and have never swapped bars before, so any suggestions or helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

Stats:
- Mostly stock 2002 Deuce
- I'm 6' tall

Plan:
- 14" Wild 1 Chubby OutlawZ (haven't decided chrome or black, bike is stock black)
- Drag Specialties complete controls kit 0610-0528
- Grips to be named later
- Mirrors to be named later
- HCC 1 1/2" risers with 1-piece top clamp HC-15RK (Anyone use these? wondering about quality)
- Wild 1 Deuce riser adapter kit WO805
- Magnum Sterling Chromite II cables and lines (+6?)
- Namz wiring extension kit (+8?)

If you have any suggestions, warnings , etc. Please post. Thanks.

Default Turn Signals

Oh, I plan to relocate the turn signals too. I haven't done any research on that but I'm assuming it would involve just a couple of clamps. Any suggestions?

Default Get'er Done

Ordered everything except the cables/brake lines, mirrors, and wire extension kit.

- 14" Wild 1 Chubby OutlawZ (chrome)
- Drag Specialties complete controls kit 0610-0528
- Grips - Chromed billet "bullet" style.
- HCC 1 1/2" risers with 1-piece top clamp HC-15RK (I have received this already and the quality seems good. I plan to fit the bars with these and my stock 6" Deuce riser, then go with one feels/works best)
- Wild 1 Deuce riser adapter kit WO805
- Magnum Sterling Chromite II lower brake line

I have already removed the controls, bars, and turn signals. While doing this I noticed my front wheel is bent. Since I need a new front tire anyway I pulled the trigger and ordered an 80-spoke front wheel to go with my new tire. I always wanted one of those too.

Put your signals down under your forward Controls there is an open tab under them where a crash bar would mount. As for mirrors there are countless cheap options on eBay. Congrats on the new bars take your time cover your tank with a towel and enjoy!!

Of all shipments, my bars are "delayed" due to a crashed/late UPS cross country trailer. Bleh... I mounted my turn signals on the forks with an HD relocation kit using the pinch bolts.

Still waiting...

I added a pic of my bike the day it was put together by Sacramento Harley, in December 2001.

Default Knee Deep - Can't Wait

I received the bars, controls, and grips. It turns out I do not need a Namz extension kit because the Drag Specialties controls kit includes wiring long enough to get to the connectors under my tank. I just had to put female Deutch pins on the wires and replace the current ones in the connectors.

The bars and controls are mounted, and all the wiring is complete and tested. I just need to order (tonight) the brake hose, clutch cable, and throttle/idle cables. I didn't want to order them until I measured with the new bars on.

Here are some random pics...
