Been a member of the forum for years but haven't posted too much so I figured its time. I recently sold a 2012 CVO RG (maple) to a gentleman from LA and did so with the intention of getting into the Deluxe "cali-style" as I have admired it for quite awhile. I always thought softails rode better than the touring bikes but both families have their +'s and-'s. I have two anniversary bikes (2003 Fatboy and RKC) and the Fatboy will likely never be parted with.
Anyway, make a long story short, it came down to 3 used bikes (06 - Green/black, 07 - Custom Paint and and 08 - White/Silver and today the decision was made based on the current owner deciding to part with her. Main reason for 08 was color and 6 speed/96 motor which will be bumped to 103-107 in due time.
Supposed to pick it up Saturday. Samsons and apes will be ordered this wknd. Then the real fun of doing the new build begins!
Would appreciate any insight, advise or other general info on things as I move forward and of course, I'll be sure and post lots of pics as things progress.

Pic of CVORG I just sold... going to miss that bike!
Im pretty partial to the white n grey as I have an 08 w/ that color scheme......I get comps on the paint ALL THE TIME and ppl always seem to think its a custom paint job. Cant go wrong with the "Cali", "So Cal", "Vicla style!!!!!!
Its a custom tank that the P.O. put on, sorry I dont have too much info on it. I see your in the I.E. area, Im in the S.G.V. area and can meet up so you can see it in person.

Thanks HI... I've seen your bike before. Comes up on several Google searches for Deluxes. Nice job making it your own.
Yeah, the 08 is the one I'm going with. I struggled with them all but since I've never had a 96 and wouldnt even think about changing the paint on the 08 vs the 07 (not a fan of the tiger stripe), the 08 made the most sense. It has the least miles too (6700). Can't wait for Saturday!
Ordered some goodies today (Samson 39" cholo's from Comoze on eBay, Said they had them in stock so rather get those than wait who knows how long for 36"), Apes (Wild1 Outlawz - 12") and the 103" kit for the bike from Surdyke.
Gonna be busy next couple weeks while the weather gets its act together here!
