so, i've been looking around for a possible rain suit to get for those days i'm caught out in it. does anyone here have a preference? I've read mixed reviews on the harley suits.
Picked up a set of FrogToggs at J&P for both me and the wife. Got tired of getting soaked and was not thrilled about the price of the HD stuff. We got both for what Harley wanted for one with the Gold Club card. Well made and lightweight, and comes with a patch /reinforcement kit for areas subjet to heat from your pipes.
I went to Wal-Mart about 5 years ago and bought a pair of waterproof elastic waist over pants for $9 and a waterproof coated nylon wind breaker type jacket for $10.
I've used this $19 set up quite often and it works just fine.
I did buy a pair of HD gaiters for the boots which keeps my feet completely dry.
I just purchased Nelson Riggs best Hi Viz suit which comes with a 2 year warranty. It has all the features of the Harley Hi Viz suit that comes with a 90 day warranty. The Nelso Riggs will save you $100.00 over the Harley Hi Viz.
There are many choices including HD... I have a Overpass and a Hi viz from HD...Kept me dry in a 8 hour down pour soacked ride. I think the way the HD is built it is worth the money but the other brands like Nelsonn Rigg, First Gear, Olympia, etc....also have good better best styles to accomodate you riding style...All in what you are willing to pay.
