They come raw, I would powdercoat them black. Then chrome my controls. I have black crash bar and axle cover and I think with some other black accents (i.e. air cleaner cover, powdercoat horn cover and leave medallion chrome, headlight trim ring, eventually wheels)they would look killer. What do you guys think?
I love the idea of black bars on your bike, I think that's a great idea. THOSE black bars though?? LOL Just kidding, but Ireally like curves, no sharp jagged edges for me!
I checked these guys site brcustomcycles.com, and found a set I like better. They are the 16" Bent Ape Beaters. They are similar to the ones in the link, but the side tubes are curved out some instead of straight.

It's your bike and your choice but if I were to do it I would put more of a curve to the bars rather than a sharp edge . I think the first bars would go better on an old chopper or that style . Black powder coat is the way to go also Just my 2 cents

The bent ones are the bars I've been checking out for the past couple of weeks. I'll make a final decision once the new frontend is on.
Well you guys helped me make my decision. I am going to stick with my current bars fora few reasons:
I won't have to extend wiring again
I won't have to purchase longer cables
I won't have to spend and extra $170 for a new set of bars
I am going to have my current bars, horn cover, A/C cover, and headlight trim ring powdercoated gloss black to match my frame, axle covers, andcrash bar. Plus the skull covers I have have black in them which I think will match great. Then I will chrome my controls to give it Chrome/Black contrast. Should look sharp a I think. It will be a little while b/c I have to save up the cash for chrome controls and I am installing a light bar aswell in order to relocate my turn signals off the handlebars. I will do all this at the same time, so I only have to take this stuff apart one more time. Then I will top it all off with a chrome front end.
Sounds like you figured it out, everytime you make a small change it cost bigbucks, I just swappedout my passenger foot pegs to floorboards and ended up buying the chrome covers and then the top rubbers, Ihad to spend bank to make it look right!Just part of owning a H.D. Your bike should look sweet with all the black accents, post the pics when their done.
