Default New Tips for Longshot Pipes?

Picked up a 2001 FAtboy the other day. It had been sitting in storage for about a year. Drove it to my mechanic to get serviced and have the carb cleaned and tuned. It was running pretty lean. Hence the freaking burns on the damn pipes. My question is since the finish on the pipes is ruined, can I replace those end pieces alone or do I need to buy a completely new system?

1. Wrap them. Cheapest
2. Rechrome them
3. Contact Vance and Hines and see what they say about new slip ons. Don't hold your breath though.
