Default KURYAKYN HYPERCHARGER

Whats up ladies & gents,

I just bought a 2007 Night Train! Its still on its way up here from the factory but I'm already buying up the parts I want to throw on her.

I got the Vance & Hines Big Radius comming but want to change the air filter...it blocks to much of the engine. I was going to go with a 90 degree and filter but found the Kuryakyn Hypercharger.

My questions is, if I put on the exhaust and the Kuryakyn Hypercharger or any new intake for that matter, do I have to take it in for a tuning? I'm pretty mechanically inclined and know that more air flow = the need for more gas. in that case the bike would be runninglean.

Im going to wait until she is broken in before doing any mods but if i need to tune her up, im gonna buy everything i want in one shot so i dont have to keep tuning it.

Thanks for the help....

PS. awsome group! ive spent the last couple months just reading and looking at pics. id be lost without this place.

Yes, if you open up the intake, you need to enrichen the fuel circuit.

From what I have read you have two main choices..the Screamin eagle race tuner or the power commander. Both can be dyno tuned but the PC lets most people tune the bike using a laptop and canned maps.

You might also consider the Vance & Hines Fuelpack - it's made to go with your pipes.

I like the name "Maccabi" - any significance?

Cheers

Im going to go with a Power Commander. I talked it over with my brother and he had one on his RC51 and highly recommends it for what I plan on doing with the bike...plus it will be fun to play with.

plasmadaddy, I just got back home (Ontario, Canada) from living over in Israel for a year. I lived off Maccabi beer and watching Maccabi Tel Aviv play basketball

Top man - did you have a good year? I did a year back in the early 90s and had the greatest 12 months of my life!!

Enjoy the new bike

I would not waste my money on the Hypercharger.
I have heard nothing good about them.
I have heard that they do "Nothing" for the bike.
They only look nice, big waste of money.

Go for the "Stage One" kit and save your money.

That's what I did. JMHO

Plasma - If you were asking me that question and not Top Man , it was the best experince of my life. I dont think anythingwill ever compare to that experince...I was there during the Lebanon war which is an experince all by itself! Where did you stay when you were over there?

Nasty350 - I talked with a couple of Harley owners that I know and they all said the same thing...Im gonna go with the Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather...I want both function and looks...hope I get it with the Screamin Eagle.

I wouldnt say that was exactly true....... The only difference I see in the stage 1 ac and the hyper charger is the hyper charger looks better. They both use a k&n filter so I would say they both would flow the same air through them.

BIG NOTE though, the hypercharger butterfies will not work because the throttlebody and manifold on the 07 are one piece and you cannot get a manifold vac without drilling the manifold and installing a bung. Thats what I had to do on my 07, but I also used an ebay HC from an 05 motor.

Yeah you got to bring her in for new maps with you change.I would suggest putting in a power commander while the work is being done.
