A wind baffle used to come stock on touring bikes. It is a 1/4 moon shaped device that goes at the top of the forks and diverts wind from coming up the front of the tank and directs it on the engine. They cost about $16.

Love mine. They do make a difference, especially if you also install a wind baffle.

Hey Sam Stone,

What's a "Wind Bafle" ?

Must be something wrong with mine, feels the same with or without them. Could be just the Ga air.
It is the air down here. I have'em on my 05 Heritage and they do the trick.

I have them and find they really do make a difference, no buffeting, less turbulence.

If you mount the deflectors on a heritiage with an engine guard, make sure you get the ones with the cutouts so you can turn your bike. Otherwise the deflectors hit the guard.

I do have the Eng/guard. I thought of that too. I ordered the factory deflectors. I didn't see a choice. Did I miss something?? Let a GM Parts guy look up Harley parts . . . Scary !!!
I looked on ebay too. By the time you pay shpg, it's about the same.
$66 bucks new from Harley.

Thanks,

You should be OK - I ordered the factory deflectors and they came with the notch which fits perfectly around my engine guard.

I did install them tonight. Took all of 5 min. They fit perfect. They clear everything(closely), there are even notches for the eng guard(as CJGROG stated). It's raining so, next chance I get I'll go for a rip down the freeway.
