I have a 12 Heritage trying to decide slip on or a full system ? Leaning toward the full system what is the best sounding pipes for the 103 engines ? long shots or a shorter pipe ?
If you do a search, you'll find a wealth of information about this. Short answer: it depends upon your goal and budget. Do you want louder pipes or better performance or both? Many folks want both. You can go the slip-on route in most cases with no further mods or do a Stage 1 for some performance enhancements. If you go Stage 1 or with a full exhaust, you'll want a fuel management system at the least; some will say you should dyno the bike. Then there are style/appearance and sound quality considerations, which are subjective, and there are many choices. Good luck!
I went through the full exhaust, stag 1 air kit, SE Tuner and Dyno test
on my last three EFI HD's. Spend $$$$$$.
This time I went with just slip-ons for sound and looks, alos a K&N filter
using the same AC stock housing. Spent $.
I'm happy as can be with the results.
I don't need the extra power ect. the more $$$$$ gets.
My 2014 Slim rocks right out of the box.
Now everyone has there own take on your question, this is just mine.
