I replaced my FXSTC 07 pillow seat with a 07 Fatboy seat and it puts me further back and lower which I like.......But and a big BUT, the wife absolutely HATES it....There is nothing worse than riding with a grumpy woman....So she said she will buy me the Retro King/Queen seat as long as it is comfortable.......
My questions
How does it compare to the original pillow seat for the pillion rider? and are your wife's and girlfriend's happy to ride on it?
Love the Retro seat. Had a train and I believe the Retro Seat is much better than the badlander seat for comfort. I like the bar on my custom but have seen twisted raer bar for this seat as well if U looking for something different. Geuine HD look in the cat.
Hi John The rear seat is not very comfortable for long trips I don't believe. My 12 year old son complains about short trips. The seat is Vinal not Leather. If you have a look in the softail pics Snowmass has a corbin seat on his FXSTC. Looks good and the back section is a lot better by the looks and U can get a rider backrest as well. If you are really after a comfortable seat for the pillion than U may need to get one of the uglier but comfortable seats. U can always swap them when it is just U riden.
Have a look at the Corbin link http://www.corbin.com/harley/softail/hdst8200kq.shtml
Thanks for the advice Black Dragon.
My wife and I did a 4 hour ride and she wasn't happy sitting on the Fatboy seat with no sissybar..... Now I am snookered and will either have to ride two up with the stock seat and change when I am riding solo. Will look at the Corbin seat and maybe reach a compromise - You know the story "unhappy wife, unhappy life!"
