I just did a stage 1 but there still too much snow here to take her out for a long run.
It's my understanding that the stock bikes run too lean causing then to really heat up.
If my stage 1 makes the bike run even a little cooler it was worth it.
I did V&H true duals, K&N air filter and a V&H fuel pak. The pipes were the most expensive and time consuming. The air breather and fuel pak were easy. Order your parts on line and do it yourself for less than half that price. I got all my parts from eastern performance. They do ship to Canada, I don't know about the UK.
Ive been looking at the fuelpak does it come ready programmed or do you have to it
Fuel pak must be coded depending on other mods and they have an easy do it yourself chart on their website http://www.fuelpakfi.com/harley1.html
Not hard to do
I had my V&H Big Shot Longs and SE Stage 1 tuner kit installed by my local dealer and it ran around $1500.00 USD. I've heard good things and bad things regarding doing it yourself, so I took mine to the dealer. The tuner at my dealer here in Michigan did an excellent job and my bike sounds great! I must say I rode my bike about 2 months stock and I will tell you it is night and day after you get pipes and a tuner kit. Not only does it sound better, but the throttle response and performance in unbelievable.
Its definatly worth it. It makes a bid difference. Its not that hard to do, just is going to take you a few hours. I have V&H bs longs, and I used the fuelpak.
