Fuel tank question
Hey, I have a 97 fatboy, edlebrok heads, cam, and big bore kit. My problem is, it seems like I'm only pulling fuel from my right tank only. I get about 120 miles and I got to hit the reserve. When I stop to fill up, I only pump about 2 gallons in the right and just a few drops in the left......my assumption is that it should pull off both tanks (seeing there is a crossover) and then the reserve is enough to get a few miles further. I would think I could get more than 120 miles per fill up. Any suggestions? By the way, I only run high octane no ethanol gas. This is my 1st Harley and just needing some ideas on whats up....thanks.

Yeah. Yesterday at exactly 120 miles, I sputtered and clearly it was wanting fuel. I went to reserve and 3 miles down the road I filled back up. The right tank was empty. Took aprox 2.3 or so gal to fill. Went to the left tank, and it was almost full.......

Oh, and rode about 110 miles today. Got home and looked into tanks. Right side is basically empty and left side is basically full......maybe a small bit gone.

One petcock on left tank only. Crossover tube at front of both tanks...just looked and the right tank looks almost empty. The left tank, fuel can slosh out of I shake the bike...
Thats strange. Because it should be pulling first from the left side. You sure the sloshing isn't the reserve? My '07 don't even have a reserve. That I'm aware of.

I have no idea. I just know that the left side is practically full...I'm gonna ride it tomorrow till it runs out. Should be very close. Idk just doesn't seem correct but it might be....
