My 2001 Deuce's engine light is coming in periodically. Had the dealer run a scan on it. It has the Screamin' Eagle module (32719-01), dealer says it's no longer available, so ended up ordering 32568-00C which is the stock unit. Am I going to lose any performance gains? I know the Screamin' Eagle has a 6200 rpm rev limiter, does the other one have a limiter?
That appears to be the stock ignition module that is set for 5800 rpm. Some say a stage one flash will change it to 6200. The Daytona twin tech is adjustable by the owner.
That was an inhierent problem with those modules. Infact there was a certain date that all previous to was recalled.
Been along time but I believe that module just gave it the 6200 rev limiter. There was another one for high compression that retarded the timing 5 degrees also.
I much, much perfer the DTT ignition and would not ever have a carbed bike again with out one, they are that good.
I'm running the Screamin' Eagle 10mm wires and plugs. I'm not sure what all has been done to the engine, but it has SE jugs, Mikuni carb, and stage 1 breather. Just didn't want to be doing a downgrade by using the other ignition module.
