I put a round cover on my 03 Heritage and my 06 Wide Glide. Looks good. Does nothing for performance.. but it looks nice.

The HD dealers have the round old style air cleaners they cost about $50.00 but will not fit on the stock deluxe set up. If you have the Harley stage one set up it will go right on you also have to purchase the round rubber gasket that goes between the air cleaner and the round air cleaner cover it takes up the slack and will keep it from rattling
That's what I have on my '03 FatBoy.

It's called the Nostalgic Bar & Shield cover for the 1340 EVO's (PN 29138-91)but they will also fit BT's when using the special gasket (PN 29591-99).

The cover is about $45, and another $5 for the gasket that fits between the SE air filter and the cover.

Just want to thank everyone for their input about the round covers. This is the only forum Im a member of, and thats only been since Mar. 10, 07 But all of the advice you all give makes me feel like I've known you for years. Like Purple Haze said, it takes me a little to get this computer stuff down. And I'll post pics when I learn how to work this Sony digital. I was in tha wrong line both times tha "how to's" were being handed down! But here's a sip of Crown Royal to each and everyone of ya.......................Peace

I'm running the HD Nostalgic "Bar & Shield" cover on my FatBoy as of today too - I prefer the round over the football -

I don't have a Deluxe but i just dumped the football air cleaner cover for a round cover myself. I have the Arlen Ness Big Sucker intake and air cleaner so I bought the HD Flames air cleaner insert and just put it on the air cleaner. I think it looks much better and gives it a bit of a hot rod, performance look.

see my sig pic below for the end result.

Guys,I read it but cannot see the answer relevant to me yet :-(. Could anybody advise me how to get the round cover even I'm not on Stage One or Screaming Eagle ? HD site says about the Nostalgic round cover:

29138-91

Fits '90-'99 carbureted (CV) Evolution® 1340-equipped models. Also fits all '99-later Twin Cam models equipped with Screamin' Eagle® High Flow Air Cleaners when installed with Gasket Kit P/N 29591-99 (sold separately)

Thanks a lot & Regards,
Daniel.

On a Twin Cam, you have to get rid of the stock air box and put a SE or Big Sucker in order to use a round cover.
