06 heritage

Hi I just bought new exhaust for my 06 heritage classic ( Sampson Big Guns 3 Ripsaws) I went to the HD dealer and they informed me that I need to install a race tuner and a Stage 1 air cleaner.Which I understand,but I was talking to a few friends and they had mentioned something about a power commander which they said would be cheaper. I was wondering what the diffrence between the two were and what would be a better way to go.

MAN it's your money so you get what you pay for, I never owned P.C. but a lot of people do and you can take off bike before you need to go to dealer for any warrenty work, but I'M not sure but have heard they still can go thru your bike's computer and see you had one and if think that was reason for bike's problem will not honor warrenty, NOW the other side say's can not tell or even if they could, still had to honor warrenty, and YES I have heard a FEW had some problem's with there P.C, but as I said many on this FORUM use's the P.C.,now I run a S.E.R.T. and once you have it down loaded it marry's for life to that bike ONLY and you have infinute way's to tune it, having S.E.R.T. DYNO-TUNED is best performance if you also do pipe's, filter K&N , or any thing else, BUT I have heard dealer can hold it against you if need warrenty work, they say will blame S.E.R.T., but it's HARLEY'S part and I was encouraged by dealer to install one, now I asked my dealer if voided warrenty and they just said do not worry we stand behind every bikeWE sell and would allway's honor warrenty!!! BUT knock on wood little over year old and only 2000 mile's, hope this help's PURPLE HAZE.
P.S meaning never had to take for warrenty work!!!!!
