Everyone tells me my bike runs to lean. Its bluing the mufflers on my V/H longshots.I had the aircleanr up grade done and the computer chip burn done at harley dealership when I had the pipes installed. Some folks tell me use a power comander thing. But I dont know what this is or where to get.Appantley this thing will enrichen my fuel michter as not to burn so lean.As most of you can tell im a rookie at this so please help.By the way i have an 05 heritage.
You can get one at your Harley Dealer or you can order one from Eastern Performance Cycle. You have a couple of choices. Get the PCIII Power Commander or get a SERT (Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner). You will have to get your bike dyno'd for it to be tuned properly. The harley download you have is worthless.
I understand that the stock Harley EFI will work fine with pipe and air cleaner upgrade. If your bike is popping it is probably lean, but I would see if your plugs are light tan to white. All pipes will blue, and no 2 bikes will be the same.

The harley download you have is worthless.
Just a question, no disrespect, but if the download is worthless, why does the dealer do it for the 06's? Would it not be more profitable for the dealer to push the SERT for us with the EFI? My dealer said nothing about the PC3 or SERT??? Just curious and slightly concerened.
Good question! A sert was the first thing 'pushed'on me when my 06 RK Custom was running lean. They almost forced it on me. It did help, along with being dyno'd. It'll cost ya a bit to get it all done, but once its done, its done. Save the time and do it right first, youll spend more time in the shop than on the road if you try to short cut.
Obviously, not all dealers are the same.
Coming from a highly customized softtail w/an S&S Super E carb, I had no experience with EFI.
My salesman told me right off that because I was getting the Stage 1 AC and Reinharts, the download would be useless.
Recommended the SERT. Had them install it and had a different HD shop dyno it. Runs great.
It concerns me also that so many dealers recommend the download.

Just to clarify what everbody is telling U.When they say U have to have the bike dynoed, they mean it is put on a dyno, and A custom air/fuel ratio map is made for your motor with whatever mods U have made to it.If U do not have this done and buy a PC111 or SERT, the maps that are used in them are downloaded from the company that makes them. They take a 05 RK, for example, make a map for it and it is ther 05 Rk map, the one U get. If U live in Denver, and they make the map in Miami,It is not gonna work well on your motor w/ the major elevation and humidity difference, making it worthless for U.I believe the perfect air /fuel ratio is around 13%.Having a custom map made will usually get U a few extra HP and torque just by getting your air/fuel ratio near perfect.IMHO,if you have spent the money for pipes and a different air intake,Lay out a little more and get it tuned properly.Hopes this helps--OD
