I wonder how the people who make BALs do it? I'd like to see how hard it would be to get those kind of LED's made into a different shape. Like a line around a license plate, or a 2, 3 or 4 line that could be inset into a fender. Something custom but with very bright red leds.

I have LEDs on my bike as well. Didn't add a LE and they blink at a faster rate of speed.

They blink normal rate 3 times then faster until I shut them off. Works for me.
Besides I could fit a LE anywhere on my bike if I tried.
My backbone is stuff with wires from my gripace system, lo-jack system and all my custom switches.

I put one on my Road King after people were bitchin' (with good reason) that they couldn't see my brake lights. Now, they say it's almost too bright. Hard to miss, and it's set to flash 3 quick times, then stay solid red. If you miss it, you're blind or need a killin'. I really recommend them. Not free, but saved my *** a few times.

I was on the verge of getting a BAL, but the local HD shop and some stuff I saw somewhere mentioned problems with the company's reliability or customer service or something. Anyone heard?

I put mine on about 3 years ago. I've never had any issue, and never had to deal with CS. I did lose my manual, and getting a replacement online was kind of a pain in the *** - really makes no sense why you'd have to register to get a copy of a manual...

Obviously, I haven't seen/read/heard everything, but I have never heard of a problem with a BAL unit. Custom Dynamics is the one I'd heard of some issues with regarding a bonk batch of signal lights, but they were apparently stellar with making things right to the point that I didn't hesitate to toss them in just yesterday.
