Has anyone installed a LED tail light and or rear LED turn signal on their 07 Dyna I have the turn sig harnessed in with running lights ( what to expect and any additional purchases to install is the question )
Looking to do this as a winter project, the dumb a$$ behind the counter at the stealer was totally clueless so HD OEM is out have to go after market
You'll need a load equalizer since the LEDs pull a lot less juice than the stock bulbs. Without one, your blinkers will flash very fast and the red key (security light) might come on. Badlands and Biketronics are a couple of sources for those.
Kuryaken makes a couple of plug-in led tail lights as well as load equalizers. Harley has one as well, looks quite similar. I'm planning this mod myself over the winter.
I have a kit coming in from Custom Dynamics, it is going to replace my brake/turn signal lights in back and front. THis includes the load equalizer and smoked lens.
I went with a smoked led tail light with turn signals built in of ebay it looks and works good had to pull wires out of stock plug and reuse them, could have bought new ones also.
I don't understand why this simple swap could be considered a winter mod. It doesn't matter if you are changing the turn sigs to run/brake/turns with LEDs or just adding a load equalizer to convert 1157's to LEDs, the worst case scenario will still take well under a half hour to accomplish. It's plug and play.
