LOL I did about the same thing , I traded my 2003 Anniversary Heritage in on 2014 Street Glide Special Saturday. Now I have gone full circle from my favorit ride the 1983 FLH to the 1995 Ultra Glide (which I hated) to the Heritage, back to the Bagger this time the FLHXS. so far I am liking it, but still not as close to the ground as the old FLH was. I already miss the balanced engine of the Heritage though.
don't know how to post a pic of my new ride but it's in my garage pics already

Oddly enough, the RK feels lighter and smaller than the Heritage. I do get the feeling that I'm sitting up higher, but not as "on top of the bike" as I've seen others describe. Apparently the seat is actually an inch lower than the previous model. I do feel pushed more toward the tank.
The stock handlebar is reminiscent of the 10" bar from the older Heritage. I've got it pushed slightly forward of the forks, within about an inch of the windshield, and my hands are in the same position as they were with the 16" apes on the Heritage. Riding position is upright, although I feel like the bar is a drag bar and my hands seem closer together than they were on the apes.
Just moving it around the garage, it seems a little nose heavy, but once rolling it feels more agile than the Softail. It's got a beefier front end with 49mm forks, and is rock solid. Leaning into a curve is effortless. Can't say much about the motor, as I'm still in break-in mode. It doesn't vibrate as much with the engine stabilizer on it, but you do notice quite a bit more than the Softy, but again once you're rolling, it's gone.
As far as making it more of a personal fit, it's pretty much good right off the floor. Although I would like a solo seat with backrest at some point. I've also thought about apes, but with the bars now, it doesn't feel as that much of a priority at the moment. Wait until I get a bit more saddle time in, and I'll be able to answer with a little better insight.
Thanks guys, and I agree TBTony; the Heritage is gone, but definitely not forgotten.

I want forget my Heritage either, always wanted one from the first green and orange I saw in the early 80's Then along comes the silver and black I fell in love with that color. Hope the next owner enjoys her as much as I did.
But I know getting into retirement I am going to really enjoy trip on the street glide

LOL tried to get Old Cooper to pose for a photo on the seat of the SG, like in the photo here with the heritage, but he wanted to put his claw on my left bag was afraid he would scratch the paint but working on a new pic
