Default Speedometer Issue, 95 Heritage

OK, Speedometer not working.
Lifted the front tire, disconnected the cable at the meter, spun the front tire and the cable does not move.
So the cable or the gear or both?
Anyone know of a thread that explains the replacement procedure?
Thanks.

Ive heard its the gear thats the weak link. The evo section is your ticket! I had an old evo but ive no experience with cable or the gear drive.
