I cant seem to find a whole lot of people using mini apes on a deluxe. Im looking to downsize my 16" gangster apes to get a 10-12" apes.
Im liking these Todd's cycle mini apes but cant picture them on my bike. Maybe if you have mini apes on your deluxe post them up so I can see!
These bars are just to big for me and gotta go.
Seat will be for sale and bars once I find a new set.
ColinSiR, food for thought. I had originally ordered and received the 16" Gangsters myself. I didn't know of anyone who had apes and this was my 1st ape experience. It was a shot in the dark for me based entirely on threads and or comments from this site.
On the day I took my bike into my Indy buddies shop to have them installed, low and behold, a guy on an 06 Deluxe with 16" Gangsters rolled into his shop no more than 5 minutes after I did. I asked him if I could sit on his bike to see what I was getting in to.
I knew instantly that those 16"ers were way to tall for me. he even told me I could take it out for a few minutes but I was so uncomfortable on them I gracefully declined his offer. A side note we both had the 1.5" Carlini bra risers as well.
So, I called Carlini to see if they could help me out with an exchange. They told me that if they had not been installed yet and there were no flaws on it after they inspect them, no problem. So, I sent those back in exchange for the 14" Gangsters. These fit me like a glove and I love them. By the way I am 5'10". I know you want something shorter but are you looking for another brand, a more straight conventional type apes or not? I think I had seen a brand once that even had odd inch apes too, 13" and so on. Good luck Dude.
I wanted to do something along the lines of a short 10 or 12 in z bar or ape style. Like evil apes. Cuz I like the rolled forward look. I really love the look of some shorter apes and can't stand how some tall ones look especially when rolled back. I like how beach bars look..... except when your actually riding. Lol

I love the Evil ape style but would love to have it is a 1.5"x12" I feel the 1 1/4 are too small! Im to picky I guess. Decision's decision's......
I would love to swap bars with carlini but mine have some scratches on them!
I found these on the other Todd's cycle bar thread. I want to find out exactly what bars those are and throw them on in chrome. and They look like they are 1.5" so they should work perfect!

Those look like the Todds Fatbob bars. I'm not sure they make 1.5" bars though. Also, are you looking to downsize apes for the look, or for comfort? Another option would be to run like a 14" ape in the tree hugger style like LA Choppers makes. They are a taller looking ape, but don't use a riser, so they sit like a 12" with 2" riser would.
