how about turning the bolt around and putting the nut on the outside? that is the way they are on my bike. on the inside is a nice rounded button head allen bolt.

I ordered these from the dealer when I picked up my bike. Thanks!

Forgot all about this little mod til today when a fellow Heritage owner was looking at my bike and noticed I was able to pull stuff out without it getting snagged.

Thought I'd give it a bump for the new Heritage owners.

I did the same thing a couple weeks ago when I hard mounted a swing arm bag to my bike. I was going to see if my half helmet would fit when I first mounted it and I was concerned the exposed threads we're going to tear the padding. So I installed the acorn nuts that were originally holding the belt guard on and my helmet slides in perfectly without snagging now.

Holy hell! I never thought of that. And thanks! I have torn up a few bags that carry my work tools and laptop.
