Thinking of pulling the trigger on a 08 rocker,
The seat sits high off the rear fender ,
This is holding me back.
is there a replacement kit/seat that rest on the rear fender?
To eliminate the empty space between them? thanks
The rear fender is bolted to the swingarm, not the frame. This means it moves with the back tire. That is why there is a gap. You can buy a kit to convert the rear fender to frame mounted type, and a new seat as well. Heartland makes a kit I believe.
All you need to do is drop the rear 1 1/2 inches and put a Danny Gray seat on it with saddle gel. This completely eliminated the gap on mine and the bike rides better. Also change the rear bump STOP to one from an 07 dovetail. Seven bucks at hd and mounts in the same holes but is thinner so you don't hit...yell if you have more questions. Rocker is an awesome bike once you make it yours...
I tried the std rocker seat also and it is better, but nowhere as good as the Danny Gray seat with gel...if you want to try a std rocker seat, I have one I only used a few times and its sitting in the garage. You can have it cheap...it's never going back on.
The Danny Gray seat from sterling seats on eBay is where some of the rocker folks get deals...Good luck.
