Default bar end mirrors?

Anyone ever run bar end mirrors?

Considering lots of things with the upcoming apehanger project. One of the things to consider is what to do with my mirror(s). In WI, I'm required to run one, so if I do only run a single, it'll be on my left. I'm going high - 16's - so I either want to invert it from the control, or possibly go sideways or invert it from the bar end.

I don't like that they stick out and make the bars even wider. I just run one mirror on my left upside down.
If I had some narrow drag bars I would consider them.

I ran them in 1990 on my FXR with drag bars. You could turn then up or down. I think they were Napoleon brand??

Thanks for the replies, guys! I'm kind of thinking the same way you two are - they may work well with low bars or narrow bars. With the apes, I'm going with RSD King Apes - 36.5 inches wide already. I wouldn't want mirrors higher, and my arm would constantly be in the way of the lower mount, so literally a bar end would be my best option. Joker Machine, for example, has one that's 2.5 inches or so in diameter. With the mounting bracket and whatnot, that adds at least that whole 2.5 inches to an already 18.25 inch spread to the left. Lane splitting isn't much of a concern for me - not legal here, and very rarely done - but we do very commonly ride side by side.

Still interested in hearing people's thoughts, but I think for THIS bike, I'll go with the inverted mirror(s) from the control(s).
