Any idea of what % of Harley sales are Softail?

i think harley has to many softtail modles , some will go for 2015

I am sure it is regional thing. Up here it is almost all Touring bikes.

not an exact, but it does confirm that touring bikes sell more

Around here, there a lot more Touring models than Softails. Today's riders seem to need fairings, radios, gps, cruise control, heated grips & luggage capacity to go on a 50 mile ride.

Lotsa Heritages around here my guess is 1/4 - 1/5 of sales at least go to them.

I find it ironic that Harley's sales more tourers than all the big twins combine but more than 80% of Harley owners ride less that 1200 miles a season/year.

80% ride less than 1200 a year? This can't be a real stat, I just got my Slim last month and I'm due for my 1000 mile service, and I haven't taken any real trips yet! Man I remember taking one two week trip that was almost 6000 miles, but I was 20 years younger and riding a Road King.
