Hello to all,my 06 heritage fell over last night, kick stand gave out.Made a list of parts needed to repair, kick stand, lite bar, lite housing, ft. panel, Lf. mirror, head lamp bulb. All minor ****, the kind of parts that you would expect you local dealer would have in stock.WELL I went to my local H-D dealer in west palm beach, florida today and they didn't have not one item in stock!! They had tons of new bikes & lots of cloths.Pretty F-ing bad! I internet ordered what I needed.I am curious to know if anyone else has a half *** dealer like we do here.Have a good one, tom- south florida.
You should be ordering from zanottimotor.com or another discount dealer. You can save a boat load of $$$. I estimate I have saved about $1000.00 over the last year, even with paying shipping. I have a t-shirt from that dealer. I was down there working after Hurricane Francis and Jeane. I only buy what I absolutely have to from dealers, way over priced.
I feel your pain on the bike falling, I dropped mine shortlyafter getting it. The kick stand did not lock forward all the way. The bike stood there for about 2 minutes and then the kick stand folded up and boom. Luckily I was still stradling it soI was able to break the fall a little.
I thought it was funny that they didn't stock screws that fell off bike....
The kickstand on my 05 bagger seemed to point out 90 deg and always worried me whenI parked...
I removed it and heated it and bent it forward I guess about 20deg. Much better as bike leans back on it...
Dealer water blaster got water in my spedo and in the axel between bearings in the back wheel which ruined them...
