Default Wheel Recommendations?

So my next purchase will be new wheel(s) for my HD. I have already decided on a 21" for the front wheel. But I am undecided on if I should go with the 16" on the rear or not. How many people just go with a front wheel and stick with the stock rear? Looks a bit odd sometimes but is obviously the much cheaper route to go. My rear has the shotgun shock on it already and I know the 21" wheel will raise the front up some so I will be lowering the front down to help level it back out a bit. Any recommendations on rim's? Good, bad, etc? Looking to purchase in June.

Here is my HD as it sits today.

RideWright make great wheels. Once you put some wheels on that scoot it's going to pull it all together. Good looking bike man.

I'd do the 21 or 23 up front with a 16 or 17 in the rear. 21 will save you some money though each time you need to replace the tire.

Ride right def makes quality wheels. If you are going with the same style spoke wheel I don't think you would need to change the back wheel. Especially with the shotgun. Just my opinion. Bike looks great.

I've had RW and can attest to high quality and high price tho. Budget is always a factor and depends on that and what you want. I would suggest to do the rear to match front and go with an 18 on rear. It will look sick. Also, the reason it will all tie together better is because you should get the matching brake rotors. They are expensive at times, but make a big difference when having a nice wheel and just factory rotors and pulleys.

But like anything budget is a factor and if you want instant upgrade in looks a 21 is a good start on the system. Shop around on venders and ebay. There are some steals out there with a little patience and work.

On a bike with no bags you NEED front and rear. Any particular style you are looking to go? Fat spokes are obviously the extremely popular choice for a deluxe. If it were me I'd do matching rotors and pulley as well for teh full effect. You looking to keep white walls? that would affect my size recommendation for the rear.

I am looking to stick with fat spokes and white walls. If I went with a 21"/16" combo how much can the front end be lowered to level the ride back out? My rear has the shotgun shock that I'm not worries about that.

Looks like you guys are out of Canoga Park which is about 90 minutes from me.

Yup, we are out in the valley. Where are you located? We sell Sinister brand Big Daddy's not RW. I used to sell lots of RW at my last shop though. When I had my softail I lowered it 1" in the front with the 21x3.5 wheel and I ran the shotgun shock on the back. Some guys lower it 2" but i feel like you lose too much travel with 2" lowered although it looks better. The floorboards seem to drag pretty quickly when it is lowered 2".

Give me a call and I can price everything out for you and all. We can even install the wheels here if you like. I do not have them in stock and they will have to be ordered.
