All of the sudden my throttle is not smooth and it effects my shift quality because i can not get on the throttle smoothly and it makes the bike feel like crap.
Took the housing off the bars, cleaned where the grip sets and sprayed some silicone lube in the cables but was not able to get much in them.
And the throttle resistance screw is all the way out but who's to say its not contacting the grip(?)
Any suggestions? im going on a 8 hour round trip to Poopys in Savanna Il and leave tonight.
Did this just happen or occur over time? Did you recently swap anything on the bars??
I would look for kinks in the cable and if I didn't see anything then I would lubricate the cable. There is a procedure to get lube down the length of the cable just not sure myself.
One more thing. Remove the AC and see if there is binding at the throttle body. Most likely there isn't but I have seen stranger things happen

Was slightly tighter one day than the next day its.. well how it is now.
Ive looked a the procedure for lubing it but you need a small needle like end on the bottle of lube. Also read these newer cables should not be lubed.
Checked for kinks but did not lift the tank. Im going to adjust them "correctly" when i get home. I know have an idea of how to after watching a few videos on youtube.
Its not really hard to twist the throttle but its just bothering me. Why would this happen out of nowhere? Does this happen and need adjusted just like a chain or belt does every so many miles?
I put grips on a month ago and lifted the back of the tank up to install an oil pressure gauge last weekend- maybe i kinked it then(?) but i have rode 200 miles since then.

Check the cables from the grip to the air cleaner. There could be a pinch somewhere.
1) kink in the throttle cable?
2) if the throttle cable is too loose, maybe it came out from the grip (or the idle cable..the other one.. came out from the grip) inside the switch housing and that's hanging you up?
3) Did you use any kind of grease/lube on the throttle when you put it on the handlebars.. not grease on the cable..but on the bars. I've had that gunk up a throttle grip before
