Default Oil temp on 2004 Softail

What should the temp be of the oil after I've been riding for an hour or so?

Thanks for your help!

2001 here ,same bike, my oil dipstick says 200. bike running a tad rich which is good for keeping the engine cool and my mileage is not too bad, cruising out of city I get 21Km per Liter (that is 47 MPG) , in the city with a tad aggressive driving and lots of stop and go I get 17 KPL or 40 MPG.

Both the owners manual and the shop manual say normal operating temp is 230. Both of my bikes oil temp ranges from 210 to 230. (2005 and 2006 Softails)

For reals? That seems pretty low. Just dipstick temp? I have the digital dipstick and see 230 regularly (check at stop lights). This is on a 2008 with stage 1 and PV tune.

yes thats the dipstick temp. i posted this same question a while back and was surprised to hear a lot of the guys running 250+. tank lift didn't really change my reading much, pretty consistent around 195
