Help with turn signal relocation kit

Help with turn signal relocation kit
So I will try to do this without pics as my phone is dead.
I have a 13 softail slim with a 2 up seat, detachable luggage rack and backrest. I am planning a rte 66 trip and thought some bags would come in handy. I searched the net and found some from Viking. They are hard shell and came with a turn signal relocation kit. Seemed simple enough.
I started to remove the light and got as far as the post coming from the fender rail. this has the bushing on it to attach the luggage rack. Not only was I not able to figure out how this is removed (because it just keeps spinning) but then realized that I would need something there after the relocation is completed to reattach the rack. I have attempted to contact the company and they are useless and I have googled and utubed with no result.
So in the end I would really love some assistance/ direction from anyone with experience with this kit or these bags or the removal of the peg for the signal.
