I agree with this as I have exaust and a tuner without any heat shields and ride in 90-100 degree temps and never got a burn. If the bike is stock it will be real hot in these temps. If you have a narrow seat you are closer to the oilbag thats real hot and if in traffic like UK Lauren said (stop&go) like Daytona heat shields plus the above and it should be livable.

Welcome biker girl. I have an oil cooler and I had my 3 head pipes under the heat shields ceramic coated. The ceramic coating protects from the heat plus if distributes the heat evenly by time it leaves the head pipes. I have zero heat issues.

BUT, I think what does it more than anything and what you might find will work best for you is to lower your bike. I have a certain rear suspension system that allows me to lower the bike, I pretty much ride slammed with just a touch of rebound. I also had my seat reworked and that lowered me about another 1/2" too.

It puts my legs more at an angle, out and away from the bike, and that pushed my leg out further from the bike. I'm 5'10". I am sure the crotch cooler will do something, many here have tried it and said so. I am going to see if I can get one in white but to be honest that will be more for cosmetics as anything else. My bike is black and white and I had my seats redone in black and white.

I have a '13 Fatboy Lo and the heat off the right side was killer. Capt. Itch Crotch Cooler and a set of Screamin Eagle slip on's (no cats).....problem solved.

Install a set of slip-ons and a good fuel management will do the trick.

I have crouch coolers installed on my bike and recently I was checking out some different Superchip maps and even with the coolers installed they got HOT! Finally found a map that worked and now it is comfortable.
