Default flushing abs brake system

I posted this in the brake section, but Im not getting any response. So I thought I would post here too.

I have a new 2014 with ABS and yes I have a service manual. The question is I like to service my bike myself. And that includes flushing out my brake fluid. The manual states if the line have been open then it must be put on a digital technician 2 for the bleeding. So can and should I still flush the system out myself??? What have you guys with abs been doing?????? Tia swifty

When I did my bar swap I just let the dealer flush and bleed the brakes. It cost $85.00 for them to do it. I have herd of methods involving reverse bleeding using a mity vac. But I figured at the time I did not want to buy the vac and hassle with it in a 12 deg garage over the winter.

I'm confused, the bike is new. You have to maintain a certain service connection with the dealer to maintain warranty. The new abs system is computer controlled for your safety. I change all my fluids in between the factory program. The brakes not. My only service on the brakes is to flush the callipers & rotors to prevent glazing/drag.

Brake fluid is to be flushed every two years if I'm not mistaken. On my old bike it had dot 5 and had brake issues so I flushed it out every year. But as you said this bike is new so I thought I would flush it out every other season. As far as the dealer I would only bring it to them if I had no other option.
But what I'm trying to ask is the digital 2 technician only for bleeding brakes or must it be used even when you are just trying to change the brake fluid??? tia swifty

I don't see why you can't just replace the fluid like you would without ABS.
Just bleed and refill the reservoir until new fluid comes out. As long as you don't get air in the system the ABS function should be fine.
That's what I have done with my Ultra and ABS still works as it should.
