Touring bikes use the same slip on fitment, Do all soft tails have the same bolt holes? Which Slip ons fits on the Heritage or does it have it's own fitment?
I had Wild Pigs on the Ultra and liked them. They don't seem to make them for the Soft Tail bikes that I can find. So I am thinking of going with Rush 1.75 or 2". Many pipes claim to fit up to 2013. I don't think the 14s are any different but I am ignorant on the bolt line up for slip on s and which Soft Tails use the same fitment with the Heritage.
Got to get a little more sound out of the pipes. Have not decided which Airbox or Tune to use for a stage I. I do know I want to use the stock air box to keep the Classic look. and prefer not to keep going to HD for downloads.
I ran Xeids on the Ultra but I think since this bike is a keeper i will go with a real tune.
Don't need to change the head pipe since there are no Cats to worry about.
07-current heritage slip-ons will fit a heritage. Just make sure u get the short staggered and NOT shotgun style as my research shows it has diff head pipes and mounting.
As far as tune goes. If all you will do is an AC and slip ons then a factory downloaded tune with vied or xied will work fine to keep temps down and increase performance

Thanks. Yeah that is all I want to do. Bring temps down. Performance is a bonus. But i am happy with the stock performance.
I planned on going with short staggered. I don't care for the sound of long shots.
The 2" Rush have a good sound and the best performers. When you put slip ons on your Softail, you will be removing both of your "cats" The aftermarket mufflers are open and let heat back to the rear and the cats being gone will be cooler. You will have a decell pop when installing slip ons. If you run XIED's, slip ons, syn oil, and a K&N air filter element, it will run cooler. If you then install a stage 1 a/filter, the heat (lean) will come back. If the Fuel Pak FP3 is avail for your model year, it is what I would use for a tuner today.
