Default Inner Axle Spacer

Hi guys. After having my night train profile 21" rim since late 2011, I've decided to finally put it on my deluxe. I bought the 3/4" bearing kit and took it to local HD shop to press them in. They got the rotor side pressed in, but called me and told me they didn't have the correct inner spacer. The kit came with two spacers of different lengths. So, my question is which spacer does it's require? The longest one measures to 4.810" long. Measuring from the top of the bearing that's already installed to the bearing seating surface on the opposite side, I am coming up with 4.870". Is the spacer still not long enough? This is going on a 2006 deluxe. Thanks for the help, trying to get this done by next weekend so I can cruise.

4.870-4.810 = .06 Sounds like you need to add a 1/16 (.0625) spacer to what you already have (the 4.810) 4.810+.0625 = 4.8725

OK, so they have to be the exact same length then. I would figure that this would be a stock harley length that would be available?? Not sure how this setup would require a special spacer.

If your measurements are accurate then you need to fill the gap or you might push the race out of the bearing while riding. I have more experience with tapered bearings but you add/subtract thin spacers with them all of the time during assembly.

I see. Thanks for the info. I called an indy today that said it would be no issue at all getting it resolved, so we will see.
